Declaration of a State of Water Supply Conservation

Section E. The use of outdoor automatic sprinkler systems is prohibited.

Due to the extreme extended dry period we have encountered over the past month, coupled with the dramatic rise in water consumption over the past week, it has become necessary to enact a mandatory outside water use resections for all lawn sprinklers to ensure an adequate water supply for daily essential needs and to meet firefighting capabilities. With all of our water sources pumping, we were still losing water in our storage tanks due to the extreme use. The inability to fill the storage tanks leaves our water supply vulnerable to any mechanical pump failure, water main break or fire. It is imperative that everyone please turn off all automatic sprinkler systems as this is the major contributor to the increase use. Hand watering of flowers and vegetable gardens is permitted. We ask you to please limit all other, outdoor use until further notice. We will be providing updates as needed. Thank for your cooperation in this extremely important matter.

Regards,
Eric J. Carty, Water/Sewer Manager
