Richard
"Cook" Kumlin gave 50
years! of service to the town of
Hopkinton.
Cook
was a World War II Veteran, who
served for two years in the
infantry. He was a Corporal who
received the Bronze Star for valor in combat. He received
3 battle stars for the
"Battle of the Bulge",
the battle in Central Europe,
and the battle of the Rhineland.
In addition he was awarded the
Good Conduct Medal, the Victory
metal, ETO medal, and the Combat
Infantry Badge.
In
August 2000, Cookie received a
certificate of recognition for
service during the Cold War from
September 1945 - December
1991. Cookie passed
away March 4, 2004.
