The Board of Selectmen voted
unanimously at its October 27th meeting
the following Fiscal 2011 Budget message, and
hereby requests all town departments, board and
committee heads, to abide by this budget message
in preparing their Fiscal 2011 budgets for the
Town Manager:
1.
Reduce
the Fiscal 2011 budget by 2.65% from the Fiscal
2010 budget.
2.
Build
medium and long term sustainability of the
town’s finances by addressing minimum
recommended reserves as well as instituting
pay-as-you-go capital as part of the town’s debt
service plan.
3.
Maintain
the town’s current level of services even with
the 2.65% reduction from the Fiscal 2010 budget.
4.
Continue
the coordinated effort by all town departments,
boards and committees, to identify more efficient
operations, revenue enhancement opportunities and
additional cost cutting measures.
The Finance Director will
distribute the specific and detailed budget
procedures to departments, committees, and boards
on November 2, 2009. All preliminary Fiscal 2011
budget requests are due in this office by December
30, 2009. Operational budget reviews will also
